Part 1
Drawing the hands
3 sessions (2.5 hours each), once a week for 3 weeks on Zoom
Wednesday 2-16 June 2021, 2.00-4.30pm (EST)
Price: $150
Price with two additional 30mins one-on-one critique sessions: $225
This course comes in two parts. You can sign up for both parts or just one.
Each session will have at its core a piece (or pieces) of art which we will use as a reference (I will send you images in advance for you to print or display on your screen). We will use these images to understand the forms of the hand and how they can articulate in an expressive manner.
Part 1 focuses on features of the hand (lower arm, wrist, palm and fingers) using works of art of the past as models of anatomical expertise. This will allow you to practice drawing these tricky segments but also see how they relate to the hand as a whole.
All students will have access to a video recording of each class which will be updated weekly. Please note, however, that due to storage capacity limits videos will only be available for one week after the date of the recorded class.
Can I take the class even if I can’t make Wednesday afternoon?
Yes! See the FAQs here.
